Q121 is a wind tunnel in Farnborough, built at the very beginning of the aviation industry in the UK, in 1935. Its an extraordinary place, with otherworldly acoustical qualities..the perfect playground for us.

We’ve inviting folk from our community to take part by making a response to this space. They’ll have a chance to explore and play with it before writing a piece to be recorded ambisonically in the space.

We’ve also invited the wonderful Adrian Utley to be a part of this project which we’re all really excited about.

The final output will be digital recordings of the tracks, plus a limited run vinyl release, a feature documentary as well as an academic study, focussing on the ethnology of The Modular Cafe Aldershot.
